MERV 211

Over the past decade, the health and well‑being of firefighters operating at prolonged incidents—such as structure fires—has become a major focus in the emergency services community. As a result, many EMS agencies now provide dedicated support services known as firefighter rehabilitation. During rehab operations, EMTs and Paramedics monitor vital signs and ensure firefighters receive proper hydration along with snacks that offer a balanced mix of carbohydrates and proteins to aid recovery.
At NHEMS, MERV 211 serves as the primary vehicle supporting all firefighter rehab activities, providing a reliable and efficient platform for on‑scene medical monitoring and recovery.

MERV 211 (Mobile Emergency Response Vehicle) joined the NHEMS fleet in late 2018 and continues to evolve as a versatile support unit.It currently responds to structure fires and mass‑casualty incidents, and also serves as the primary platform for firefighter rehab operations. Beyond its medical support role, MERV 211 is equipped to function as a mobile command post—most notably deployed during the Brush Creek recovery operation in February 2019 on Route 993 in the Larimer/Ardara area of the township.
Originally converted from a shuttle‑style vehicle, MERV 211 offers comfortable seating for nine and is fully handicapped accessible. While its long‑term mission profile is still being refined, the vehicle has already proven to be a valuable asset during prolonged emergency responses, providing a reliable space for coordination, rehabilitation, and support on scene.
