Employment

North Huntingdon EMS/Rescue always accepts applications for casual EMT and Paramedic positions. Candidates must posses a valid PA DOH EMT or EMT-Paramedic/PHRN license, CPR card, EVOC/EVDT and PA driver's license. Additional consideration is also given to individuals possessing the following certifications: ICS 100, 200, and 700, PA DOH BVR, PA DOH SVR, HAZ MAT Operations, water rescue awareness and basic rope rigging.

Interested parties may complete an application in person at North Huntingdon EMS/Rescue, 11259 Center Highway North Huntingdon, PA  15642 or download and print a copy of the application and deliver it to the base at the address listed.

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) 

Possess valid PA DOH EMT Certification
EVOC/EVDT certified.
Minimum 19 years of age.
Valid CPR certification.
Valid PA drivers license.
Able to lift heavy objects/stretcher.
Work well with others.
Able to work in highly stressful situations/environments.
Be of good moral character and be free from mental and physical handicap that may impair the person's ability to drive an ambulance.

Paramedic

Possess valid PA DOH Paramedic/PHRN Certification
Minimum 19 years of age.
Eligible for medical command authorization in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
EVOC certified.
Valid PA drivers license.
Valid CPR certification.
Current in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, ITLS or PHTLS and PALS.
Obtain full medical command status within 6 months of hire.
Able to lift heavy objects/stretcher.
Work well with others.
Able to work in highly stressful situations/environments.
Be of good moral character and be free from mental and physical handicap that may impair the person's ability to drive an ambulance.

Extra consideration will be given to those candidates who possess the following certifications:  ICS 100, 200, and 700, PA DOH BVR, PA DOH SVR, HAZ MAT Operations, water rescue awareness and basic rope rigging.

Volunteer Membership

Volunteer membership requires you to be 18 years of age and in good physical health, if you have no formal training, training will be provided to you for free or minimal cost. Volunteer members are required to complete 12 duty hours per month. We realize that riding in an ambulance and providing emergency care isn't for everyone, you can still help out in other ways by answering phones, assisting our billing department and greeting visitors to the building or you may have a special talent in some other area which may be useful. After hire employees are required to become certified in Basic and Special Vehicle Rescue, NIMS 100, 200, and 700, Hazardous Materials Operations, Water Safety Awareness, and Basic Rigging for Rope Rescue.
